EXTIMO Student Voice Award

AATSP-Indiana is proud to sponsor the EXTIMO Student Voice Award for Outstanding Spanish Teacher as a way to celebrate the connections that Indiana teachers of Spanish and Portuguese build with their students. This award recognizes the top most inspiring Spanish/Portuguese teachers in middle schools, high schools and universities in the State of Indiana. Elementary Spanish teachers are also eligible but they are chosen by an AATSP Indiana Committee based on their activities with children. The award is given to Spanish/Portuguese teachers that motivate, encourage and engage their students in activities that contribute to the practice of Spanish/Portuguese. AATSP Indiana is especially interested in recognizing those teachers that have shown passion for teaching Spanish/Portuguese and have been instrumental and influential in students’ decision to keep studying and learning the language in all educational stages.

    ABOUT THE NOMINEE. 
    Please tell us why you believe your teacher is entitled to this award based on the requirements. You might include examples of class activities, teaching methods, and the clubs or organizations your teacher is in charge of.  Give examples of the teacher’s involvement in students’ participation in academic events.  You might describe ways that your teacher helps you become involved in community service activities that relate to Spanish/Portuguese. Comment on the teacher’s influence in your decision to keep learning Spanish/Portuguese at all stages of your education.
Teachers will be recognized during the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (Indiana Chapter) Business Meeting on Saturday, November 5th at 10am at the Sheraton Hotel Indianapolis (Keystone crossing, Suite 16, second floor) as part of the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association Conference.
